Vista Launch Date - 30th November

Microsoft have announced the launch date for Windows Vista and Office 2007. From 30th November, businesses around the entire world will be able to get their hands on Vista, and everyone can get Office. Vista will be made available to home users in January.

Windows Vista, originally codenamed Longhorn, is the next generation of the Windows operating system, the first client version to be released since XP five years ago. It is a major overhaul of security and many other features, including a new User Interface, Start Menu and improved networking technologies. Vista will ship with six versions: three for businesses, two for home users and a third one for cheap PCs in developing parts of the world. Even though Vista requiresmore advanced hardware than XP, there are many manufacturers already selling "Windows Vista Capable" PCs.

Vista Home Basic: $199 ($99.95 upgrade)
Vista Home Premium: $239 ($159 upgrade)
Vista Business: $299 ($199 upgrade)
