Where's my free laptop?

There has been quite a fuss kicked up about Microsoft giving free Vista-loaded top-spec Acer laptops to the owners of leading Microsoft-focused blogs. Although these machines are strictly review units, many seem to think that it constitutes a bribe for the bloggers to write favourably about Vista and the machine. The lucky recipients are given the choice to refuse the laptop, keep it, or give it away - some are going in charity auctions.

I would like to (bitterly) point out that neither VistaSector/MSForums nor ShockGadgets have been offered such a unit, but we still sent Gates, Allard and the legend that is Steve Ballmer a Christmas card each smile.gif

If you have any comments or thoughts on the ethics of such a bribe gift, comment on MSForums
