According to CRN.com, Microsoft intend to release all versions of Windows Vista on each DVD it ships, rather than a different disk for each. This would enable quick and easy upgrades to a higher version, and allow system builders and IT professionals to install any version from their single master disk.
We think its a nice idea, but there are obvious security issues, such as there being a simple method to override whatever prevents the installation of certain parts of the operating system. We're waiting on Microsoft to validate this still.
